When was the last time you focused on YOU?


Hey Boo heeeeeyyyy!

Ok so listen.....well, read! 🫣One of the GREATEST acts of self-care I've ever gifted myself was when I had the audacity to purposefully look at my naked body in the mirror and decide that every inch of me was GORGEOUS, It was awkward and uncomfortable and as I stood there I started to feel.........relieved.

I tried on saying it out loud....my voice shook as I said it

"i am gorgeous" Nah, not quite right.😟

I tried it again. "I AM gorgeous?"

wait, it's not a question 🤔

I cleared my throat and tried one more,

"I AM GORGEOUS"

I was so shocked by at how it sounded flowing confidently from my mouth......

I stood there marveling at my newly self-coined gorgeous body as tears of healing began to flow, every time I repeated it to myself, as I said it, I felt the weight of societal standards fall away from me as I was claiming and reclaiming autonomy over my gorgeous body, with every new kind and loving word I began to bathe my body with.

It. Was. Magnificent.

I felt so incredibly loved and adored.

Finally.

That was honestly one of the most beautiful moments I've ever gifted myself,

International Self-Care Day is observed on July 24th each year. It is a day dedicated to promoting self-care practices and raising awareness about the importance of caring for one’s physical, mental, and emotional well-being. On this day, individuals are encouraged to prioritize their self-care, engage in activities that promote relaxation and self-renewal, and practice mindfulness. It serves as a reminder to make self-care a regular part of our daily routoder to maintain a healthy and balanced life.

Self-care refers to activities and practices we engage in to promote our physical, mental, and emotional well-being. Here are some examples of self-care, here are a few more of my FAVORITE self-care activities:

  1. Exercise: Regular physical activity, such as walking, jogging, yoga, or dancing, can help reduce stress and improve overall well-being.
  2. Meditation and mindfulness: Taking time to quiet the mind and focus on the present moment can help reduce anxiety and improve mental clarity.
  3. Healthy eating: Nourishing your body with nutritious foods can improve energy levels and overall health (DUH you knew this was coming).
  4. Adequate sleep: Getting enough quality sleep is essential for physical and mental recovery.
  5. Reading: Engaging in a good book or any literature that interests you can be a form of relaxation and mental stimulation.

I don't want to overwhelm you so start with these and I'll send you a few more in a few days, remember, self-care is personal and can vary for each individual. It’s about finding activities you enjoy and are juvenating to your mind, body, and soul.
